Hit Music Radio formerly TYP (The Yorkshire People) radio was an Internet radio station which broadcast 24 hours a day, 7 days a week playing a variety of music from the 1970s to the present day. Hit Music Radio aired from July 2003 until July 2009 when it closed down due to lack of funding. There were plans for the radio station to relaunch in the summer of 2010. The managing director of the station is Wayne Cubitt. Its main studios are based in the city of Sheffield, in the district of South Yorkshire. While Hit Music Radio was ostensibly aimed at all ages, it was clear from the musical policy of the station that the average age of the listener is 25+. The station plays music from the 1970s to current chart hits, predominantly ballads, love songs and middle of the road rock and pop. ==Presenters== Former full-time presenters included, Chris Marsden, Dan Hall, Gregg Upwards, Gav Richards, Richie Pearson, Neil Wilkinson, former Programme Director Brian Day and Wayne Cubitt.
